Minus the inside jokes.
Day 1: Wednesday 18th.
Whee, leaving for the airport and "anticipating" the 12 hour flight.
Even though we got upgraded to Business class, it sucked. I couldn't sleep and couldn't be arsed to grab a book from my bag in the storage above. I really am a lazy sod.
That said, the plane was filled with Japanese high schoolers. Mostly guys. Oh, and I think they were on a tour of England and Scotland. Poor saps. <_<
Oh. Cars sucks, by the way. <_<
Well, I finally reached Hiroshima. <3 Awwwwwwwwwwwwesome. And Japan. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome.
>_>
Seriously, you can take a nap on a bench without fear of being mugged. And cheap vending machine drinks EVERYWHERE. And giant TV advertisements at the largest pedestrian crossing I've seen. <3 Japan. We passed what looked like a cosplay shop, but our Japanese teacher (who shall be now referred to as Sensei) told us it was a little untasteful and for over 21s only. x_X
So. We were to have dinner out, but to my dismay, everything but McDonalds was shut by the time we decided where to eat. Though we did discover an awesome curry place to go another time. Oh, and Japanese street band people win.
We explored other areas and fount the one place in Japan that wasn't clean and safe. It looked like the gangster hideot and was littered with cigarettes. O-o
When we finally got to the (awesome) hotel, I found I was partnered with Nick. He's funnay. He spent the night sleeping in the hotel supplied Kimono thinger. And the morning. And the upcoming train trips. And the bus trips. And the other mornings. An-you get the picture. >_>
Day 2 - I can't be bothered to type out the dates.
Yay shopping! Time to get a digital camera! Or... not. The only ones I could effectively afford had 256megs in their cards, and I couldn't really afford that. >_<
That said, we found those awesome cheap plastic toy coin twisty machines. Hang on, I'll google image for a pic. [URL=[link]
Rawr. Also, I found ToP models. Awesome ones. I bought two. They turned out to be Chester and Suzu. <3
Okonomiyaki for lunch. I gotta have that again some day. It was wierd, but tasty. *Craves*
Oh, we also went to the nuclear bomb museum thing. It was fascinating, but grim and depressing at the same time... X_X
I'd rather not go into detail, but it put me off jokes about nuclear warfare. Also... BIKES! Lots of bikes. People actually use them in Japan. How awesome is that? Furthermore, we went to that curry restaurant. <3
Day 3
Yay, we're going to a more country based area. Yay, there's a castle. Yay, there's a famous woooden bridge we get to cross. Yay, there's snakes [s]on a Plane[/s]* But most importantly, ICE CREAM VENDING MACHINES!! <3<3<3 I think I had about 5 or 6 that day. >_>
So, Daniel (friend)** and I took the ropeway up, after exploring the town for ice cream (I had had at least two Ice Creams by then) and realised that if we went into the castle, we wouldn't have time to hike down the hill. So we briefly took piccies of the castle and fount the others finishing their trek up.
Dixon: "At least you'll be travelling downhill."
Ha. Fat chance. The first half of the trek involved Daniel taking every opportunity for awesome photos of the sun (seriously, they're awesome) and actually went UPWARDS. Disheartening to say the least, but we hit the half way mark. <3 the view.
So. Trek downwards. Meep. Very thin path. Uneven "steps" of stone, much sliding and uncontrollable running. Seemed to drag on for nearly forever, too. Hell, Daniek nearly fell off a cliff at one point. .___.
Eventually, we made it down and after some arguing, found our way back in time, stopping to take a picture of a cat. <3
We then found out that the others found a group of 9 cats. *Fistshake*
Then the day got even more interesting. We went to a nearby island with a certain very famous shrine of which the name I forget, like most Japanese names. -_-;;
But that Island rawked. More Ice Cream, giant cans of coke***, and DEER! Travelling the streets! One attacked Graham for food. XD It was hilarious watching them scare people or surround them in packs. But they were SOOO CUTE! <3 *Huggels them*
*Snakes on a plane is called "Snake Flight" (Pronounced "Sneeku Furaito").
**Yeah, I'll point out the friends when/if I get the photos done. <_<;;;;
***I swear Coca Cola control Japan's Vending Machine industry, and thus Japan itself. And believe me, those supermassive coke cans are not good for you. X_X
Day 4
Steam Train! More country based Japan! More group arguments leaving me ditching them because I decided they were insane going up an untrustworthy mountain path.
Oh, well, I met with Roy and Sensei and we went shopping, and had a afunky seafood dinner. Roy managed to knock over a cactus and prick his finger with it. >_<
We also got tot ride a steam train, but that day was uneventful. @_@
When I got back, I got two more ToP models. Dhaos and Klarth F. Lester! (If only Morrison were in the collection. ;.
Day 5
I think this was the moving to Tokyo day. Yes. Tokyo. <3
However, 5 hours on the shinkansen was kinda annoying, and ended up into a relelntless Advance Wars argument. <_<
We reached our new resting ground which was ironically known as the NYC. It sucked. But I did get to see a strange anime called Gekifu (More card games), a sumo movie and a gameshow with some J-Pop band called V6. One of them is smexy. <_<
Day 6
Whee, touring Tokyo.We got to travel the most insane trane station I have seen, visit Harajuku (Really awesome goth outfit people there who deliberately dress up in crazy outfits), where I ate octobus. Chewy, but nice. A lot like prawns. Also... STRAWBERRY POCKY!
<_< >_>
I also got a shiney new MP3 player in a really famous shopping area, near a department store called something along the lines of Alta. But I forget. <_<:;;
Day 7
...Disneyland. WHY DIDN'T I BUY A NEW CAMERA FOR THIS DAY? >_<
Oh, well. Most of it was overrated anyway. <_<
The light show parade was awesome, but must have wasted a shedload of electricity. And it lacked pirates. Proper pirates, because Hook was there.
Oh, and I couldn't find a keyblade there. *Emo*
Oh for some crazy reasone we decided to eat at Planet Hollywood. Would've been stupid had I not seen a cool Bruce Lee keyring.
Oh, and how could I forget people running around with adorible Cat Ears? >_>
Day 8
We went to a Japanese high school. A mostly girls one. >_> <_< And I will sum up their race with a brief profile.
~~~Race: Japanese School Girl~~~
Recognised by: Awesome uniform, unnervingly short skirts.
Traits: Unnaturally giggly, overexcite when you mention something they know and love. Like Miyazaki. >.>
Oh, and one of the English teachers there seemed to be an American basketball player/hip hip artist. They all seemed to have a crush on him, and it explained why they liked hip hop.
Theories: Many of them aren't that good looking. >_>;; Cute, but somewhat scary. It was certainly an odd experience. >_>
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Also, we visited a school of midgets (Super awesome cute yellow hats!) And they were so cute it was scary. They surrounded us and, well, it was crazy. @_@
One boy kept dragging me everywhere.
Then we went to a temple. Damn beautiful places. I'd probably explain more if I weren't so tired.
Also, we found a machine where if you put a can in, it recycles it and you get 10 yen.
On the train back, I also made this conclusion.
Businessmen play on SPs and DSes and read manga more than children, and I caught an old lady reading a Shonen Jump magazine. XD
Day 9
Final shoppoing chance was wasted. I was broke, but still managed to buy two Miyavi CDs (well spent. <3) at the mother of all HMV stores. AND I FOUND FE6! TT_TT But yeah, we found the world's best Manga store. But the best bit was when Dixon (he scares me) was asking us if we knew where girly mangas were. He wasnted one for his sister. We were only too happy to show him the Yaoi sections. XD
We then took the bus to Narita hotel to prepare for the flight home. x_X
Day 10
The final trip was pretty uneventful. But I managed to get pretty far into Assassin's quest. <3
Grah, I'm tired. And Lack photos. When I get them, expect some major updating.
Oh, may I add that you can't go hungry in Japan? There are restaurants everywhere.
